Lover Of The Bayou


Mudcrutch - "Lover Of The Bayou" - Mudcrutch (2008). If you know me, you know of my love for Tom Petty. Before Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, there was Mudcrutch, Petty's band from 1970 to 1975. Formed in Gainesville, Florida, Mudcrutch's original lineup consisted of Petty, Tom Leadon (guitar and vocals), Randall Marsh (drums) and future Heartbreaker and key Petty collaborator Mike Campbell (guitar). Keyboardist and future Heartbreaker Benmont Tench later joined the band. In 2007, Petty got the band back together, inviting Leadon and Marsh to rejoin Heartbreakers Campbell and Tench. Mudcrutch recorded an album of old and new tracks. Here's the official video for their cover of the Byrds' "Lover Of The Bayou" (Untitled, 1970).
